Pickler grew up in a difficult environment. When Pickler was just 2 Her mother left in order to escape an abusive relationship. Her mother returned in 1995 into her life, and she took full charge of the child. The situation did not work out the way she had hoped. Pickler's grandparents raised her from the age of 12 to the age of adulthood. In the absence of her parents, Pickler became too busy caring for her siblings. She confessed that, in absence of parents, Pickler's schedule was so busy that she could not attend school. She instead began in the process of learning to care for her family earlier in stage. Pickler was a member of the middle and high school's cheerleading squad. Pickler graduated in 2004 from North Stanly High School. Pickler was also a contestant in a beauty pageant.
